As is the case in any business that focuses on good customer service, looks after its team members and follows sound processes, here at Original Engines Co we’ve been experiencing sustained growth through our ongoing mission to provide the best remanufactured engines across Australia.
With growth, however, comes a need to continually adapt to change and look at better ways to conduct business. As such, we recently expanded our physical footprint to include a dedicated Distribution Centre to house our engine cores, the engines that have been remanufactured and waiting for delivery back to dealers, and our large stock holding of genuine parts for the remanufacturing process.
Our new DC is also located in Kilsyth, Victoria, Australia – the same suburb where our remanufacturing process takes place. Just like our reman facility, our Distribution Centre has been designed to ensure that our team members can carry out their tasks in an efficient and safe manner.
Our racking was designed and installed by Bowen Storage – who are well known for their quality products and outstanding service. The design allows for our team to be able to accept cores that are ready for remanufacturing, send out completed engines back for installation, and provide our production line with the necessary parts and componentry for the remanufacture process – all within an efficient layout and eliminating double handling. The larger capacity for stock holding means that the remanufacturing process can often be carried out quicker than before, as we consistently replenish stock and actively over-stock wherever possible.
Parts and engines are now shuttled between facilities via our purpose-built vehicles and dedicated staff. The extra benefit of our warehouse, of course, is that all of this can take place without impeding on the remanufacturing production line, ultimately allowing us to remanufacture more engines each day.
With the addition of our dedicated DC, space has become available at reman centre to further our capabilities and processes to strengthen the quality of our remanufactured engines.
